The Tengu – From Protectors to Cursed Shadows

Long ago, the Tengu were noble guardians, sworn to defend the castle walls and stand side by side with the Tenshi, the celestial warriors of light. They were revered for their loyalty, feared for their strength, and respected as protectors of peace. But fate turned cruel. A dark curse seeped into their souls, twisting their honor into hatred, and binding them to the will of evil spirits.

Now, these once-valiant defenders roam the land as sinister creatures, long-nosed goblins that haunt the shadows of Japan’s folklore. In The Three Kings – Book One, they march under the banner of darkness, serving as enforcers for the villains who hold Master MacGregor captive. Their grotesque forms and chilling presence spread fear wherever they appear, a reminder of how even the purest hearts can be corrupted.

Legends tell that real Ninjas once disguised themselves as Tengu to strike terror into their enemies, blurring the line between myth and reality. Were the Tengu only stories, or did they truly exist?
